Technical specifications of our bi-fold doors

Timber folding doors are available in beautiful, solid-engineered softwood, hardwood or oak. The timber required is sourced from responsibly-managed forests.

Hardwood used is predominantly Idigbo (Terminalia Ivorensis) and Engineered Red Grandis (Eucalyptus Grandis).

Selected timber sections are used for a combination of strength, durability, machining flexibility and an ability to accept a wide range of finishes. These hardwood timbers are naturally resistant to wood rot and fungal attack and the natural oils present in the timber make it resistant to moisture penetration.

Doors are manufactured from engineered hardwood for greater resistance against general expansion and contraction, twisting and bowing.

The doors are factory finished in an automated paint plant, with 3 coats of micro-porous paint.

All our products are available in RAL colours.

Glass and glazing
Choose from a wide range of glass types and specifications, including obscure, safety and anti-sun. All commonly available glazing units are available on request.

Our products are factory glazed with concealed glazing pins to meet current UK Building Regulations.

Double glazing allows buildings to be much more energy efficient, and are one of the most cost-effective energy investments homeowners can make.

Each set is individually customised using your choice of timber, ironmongery and finish. Full manufacturing drawings are produced to your exact dimensions for final approval.

Door furniture
The type of handle required will be dependent on the opening configuration you choose. Generally, when you have a single-pass door you will require one our lever handles and for configurations without a single-pass door the handle will be required.

Our experienced advisor will be able to talk you through which handle will be relevant to your opening configuration.
